Monopoly

Players act as landowners buying, trading and developing properties around a board to collect rent from opponents. On a turn a player rolls two dice, moves that many spaces, and may purchase unowned properties, pay rent, draw chance/community cards, pay taxes, or be sent to jail. Owning all spaces in a color group allows players to build houses and hotels to increase rent; players may mortgage properties or sell buildings to raise cash when short. The game proceeds until all but one player are bankrupt (or until a variant end condition), and many casual playgroups use informal house rules that alter auctions, Free Parking, or bankruptcy.
