Naishi

A two-player hand-optimization and tableau-building game about managing feudal Japanese provinces. Players draft and replace cards from a central river to improve their personal tableau and hand while respecting card positions; cards taken must often occupy the same slot they came from. Players also deploy emissaries to rearrange cards, open new scoring opportunities, or compel the opponent into unfavorable trades. The game emphasizes careful sequencing of draws, forced placements, and tactical use of emissaries to reshape both players’ states.
