When I explore a room, where does the Spore go?

After setting up the room’s items, place a Spore in the neighboring room connected by the Corridor number on the Exploration token. Don’t place one if that route leads to a Technical Corridor Entrance or has a Door; then resolve the token’s effect and make the usual Noise roll (p. 5).

Do Germinators cause an Encounter or put me in Combat, and how do I remove one?

No: Germinators don’t affect Characters and being in their room doesn’t count as Combat. Use a Melee Attack or Shoot Action; each Injury lowers its level by 1, and at level 0 it returns to the Laboratory board (p. 6).

Can the Deathcap or Queen move into any room?

No. They can move only into a room with a Germinator or Mycelium; if the destination lacks both, place a Spore there instead. They stay put if their move would take them into the Technical Corridors (p. 7).

Can I remove Mycelium, and what happens if we run out of Mycelium markers?

Mycelium cannot be removed. If you must place one but none remain in the pool, every Character in the Facility—including anyone in Isolation—dies and the game ends (p. 6).

What happens if I’m told to place a Spore in a room that already has one?

Replace the existing Spore with a Germinator from the Laboratory board; if none are available, place a Mycelium marker instead. Spores in rooms with Fire are removed during the Event Phase’s fire-damage step (p. 6).

What happens when I get a Larva from contamination while using Chytrids?

Place a Spore marker on your Character board instead of a Larva. If you already have a Spore there and must place another, you die; place a Germinator and a Character Corpse in your room (p. 8).
