Players survive a shipwreck and explore a hostile island of ruins, recruiting companions, collecting relics, and confronting strange monsters. Gameplay centers on resource management, area control, and freeform action selection as players place tiles, travel the map, and interact with locations. Each turn allows three actions chosen in any order (for example, activate a companion, move, or use a tile), and many effects require spending influence to acquire and combine heroic attributes via an alchemy-like system. Card abilities, tile placement, and attribute combinations create tactical depth and variable end-game conditions.
