Players take the roles of a band of teens trying to survive in a world where adults have become undead. Teams move across a town map to scavenge for food and shelter, hold defensive positions, recruit other survivors, and investigate the origins of the outbreak. Gameplay is scenario-driven and time-pressured: a 15-minute soundtrack sets the tempo for each session while players make quick cooperative decisions to avoid being overwhelmed by zombies. Rules are streamlined but force meaningful trade-offs between risk and reward as the campaign progresses through successive scenarios.

This is a real time (soundtrack driven) co-op zombie smashing game for up to players. It's really great having a soundtrack driven game that's diceless. Essentially, in the game each player gets 4 actions, which could be move your meeple, kill zombies or search for items. When the soundtrack growls, more zombies spawn on the active player. The different scenarios in the book change things up reasonably well, and as the game progresses you add more elements making things more challenging. I particularly like the tower defense style level. I can't help but feel a little disappointed that the story has no ending in the base game, it just leaves off. They've released the end in a downloadable extra set of levels, which is... fine. ★ Art, Iconography and components functional ★ Clever or interesting mechanisms ★ Reasonably low downtime between turns with mildly AP players ☆ Multiple plays stay interesting ★ Low or mitigatable luck elements ★★★☆☆ Raw enjoyment
