French Checkers

A checkers variant played on a 10×10 board with 20 pieces per player. Men move diagonally forward and become Kings on reaching the opponent’s back row. Kings use “flying” movement to travel across multiple open squares along the diagonals. Captures are mandatory, and players must choose the sequence that captures the greatest number of pieces. Men can capture forward or backward, while Kings may capture across a diagonal and continue jumping when possible. A player loses when unable to move; specific repeated-position and material conditions can result in a draw.
