War of the Ring

Players reenact the struggle across Middle-earth on a large campaign map as armies mobilize and fortresses contest territory. Gameplay runs on two interacting levels: a strategic wargame where armies maneuver and fight, and a character-driven contest in which heroes, champions, and the fate of the One Ring influence outcomes. Sauron’s forces are militarily stronger on the map, while the Free Peoples gain advantages through character actions and quests. The game supports two or three players and integrates grand strategic movement, battles resolved wargame-style, and narrative events tied to individual characters.
