Genotype: A Mendelian Genetics Game

Players act as assistants conducting pea-plant breeding experiments, trying to produce specific observable Traits such as seed shape, flower color, stem color, and height. Each round, dice represent breeding outcomes based on Mendelian inheritance; players draft dice to try to match Pea Plant Cards that show target Phenotypes and to advance Research. Rounds split into Worker Placement, Dice Drafting, and Upgrades. During Worker Placement players take actions to acquire Plant Cards, alter parent genes, stake Phenotype claims, gather Tools, or secure drafting position. Dice Drafting uses mechanics that reflect Punnett-square inheritance and includes mutation dice and priority-pick options. Upgrades convert Research into expanded capacity and additional workers. Completed Plant Cards score points, bonus points accrue for matching staked Phenotype claims, and the game ends after five rounds with the highest scorer winning.
