Set in 1936 Spain, the player takes the role of Republican maquis conducting a clandestine guerrilla campaign against Francoist forces. The game is a fast-playing, card-driven solitaire experience where the player assembles a twelve-card team and undertakes a sequence of missions of increasing difficulty. Play centers on managing a deck that represents the maquis: cards can be kept hidden to preserve future options or revealed to use powerful abilities, but revealed cards are permanently removed. Success on missions earns victory points, while failed encounters and exposed operatives threaten the resistance; after each round the player decides whether to stop or press on for further missions.
