Players act as captains commanding unique ships in a naval skirmish game where the goal is to earn renown through exploration and combat. Gameplay alternates between a combat phase at sea—where players play hands of multi-use cards to maneuver, search shipwrecks, navigate obstacles, and fire cannons—and an island phase, where skiffs take workers to gather resources, repair and upgrade ships, and improve decks. Card choices provide tactical options and bonuses that reward efficient play.
