2022 · Economic
18Svea
A compact 18XX-style economic train game for two or three players set on a ten-hex map of central Sweden from 1850 onward. Players act as railroad entrepreneurs founding and operating five small, fictional city-based rail companies to build track, place stations, run trains and generate revenue for shareholders. Play alternates between Stock Rounds—where players buy and sell shares and manage holdings—and Operations Rounds—where companies lay track, run services and pay dividends. Twelve strategy cards add variability, and play emphasizes planning and player interaction with minimal randomness. The winner is the player with the highest combined cash and share value when the game ends.
