Set in 19th-century Mexico, players act as investors building and operating railway companies while buying and selling their stock. The game follows standard 18xx economics: run companies to operate trains and earn revenue, issue and trade shares to control companies, and coordinate track expansion across the map. Multiple auction rounds distribute minor companies, private companies, and concessions in a randomized order, so the available assets and timing vary each playthrough.
