Players represent dynasties guiding one or more civilizations through world history from ancient to modern times. Each turn, players use cards that function as civilizations, actions, or advances and assign secret action chits to determine which civilizations can wage war, produce, research, or perform other activities. Cards carry numeric values for bidding and trading, and historical leaders and advances influence society, health, wealth and prestige. Civilizations rise in level and earn victory points tracked on the board; the first civilization played sets the historical era and limits which other civilizations and leaders can enter play. Games often end after a set number of turns, with the highest combined victory total across a player’s civilizations winning.
