Alexandros

2003 · Territory Building

Alexandros

Players act as competing generals guiding a single moving figure across a triangular grid to create and enclose provinces. Movement is driven by playing cards that match symbols on destination spaces; the moving figure leaves a trail of border markers that eventually form provinces of triangular spaces. After moving, players choose between drawing cards, placing leader tokens to occupy spaces by matching symbols, or triggering scoring when board conditions permit. Provinces score based on their number of empty spaces, and players can take over empty or occupied provinces by committing cards and leaders. Hand management and timing of scorings determine the winner when the trail markers run out or a point threshold is reached.

Interesting game I like the card mechanic but alexanders movement seems slightly random.
