Roll dice and score piety while carrying out a monk’s work: copy books, pray, perform good deeds and earn the abbot’s trust. Across eight days, players roll and reroll dice showing book types, abbot influence and travel opportunities, then record their results. Influence is gained during the first half and spent later to bid for task priority, while a novice can travel to towns to find books and perform good works. Book values change during the game, leaving the final scores uncertain.
