Dewan

2025 · Territory Building

Dewan

Players lead a nomadic tribe competing to settle territory by placing camps across a shared map of terrain hexes. On each turn, players draft and spend terrain cards to place camps, racing to occupy valuable spots while meeting requirements on personal story tiles. Resource management matters: berries are collected and a fire mechanic offers bonus scoring opportunities. The game emphasizes area placement, hand management, and tactical racing as players balance immediate placement options with longer-term tile goals over a compact playtime for 2–4 people.

Rules questions

Answered from the rulebook by Ludoya's rules assistant.

Do the two terrain cards I take on my turn have to be adjacent?

Yes — on your turn you either take two adjacent Terrain cards or place a Camp; you cannot take two non‑adjacent Terrain cards (see p.4).

If I place a Camp on a slot, do I immediately get that slot’s berries or other effects?

Yes — after placing a Camp you immediately resolve that camp‑slot’s effects (A–D) and collect berries or other benefits as specified (see p.5).

When and how do I check and complete Story tiles?

Story tiles are checked and completed at the end of your turn; completed tiles are slid up and you then draw Terrain cards as instructed (see p.7).

How do Story tile requirements count — do the required terrains/resources need to be adjacent?

Story tiles list terrain and resource requirements and include specific adjacency rules; you must satisfy those requirements according to the adjacency rules printed on the tile (see p.6).

When does the game end and how are final scoring and tie‑breakers resolved?

The game ends when the end condition in the rules is met, and final scoring is carried out using the categories and tie‑breaker order laid out in the rules (see p.8).

Can I place Camps on water (Lake Villages) and what special rules apply?

Yes — Lake Villages allow Camps on water and have special placement effects, event fish tokens, and unique scoring explained in the Lake Villages rules (see p.12).
