Players take the role of rival monarchs seeking to expand and improve their kingdoms by acquiring cards that represent actions, resources, and victory points. Gameplay centers on deck-building: players buy cards from a shared supply to customize their personal decks, then play action cards, manage treasure, and gain victory cards to score at game end. The set combines the core card pool with additional card types that introduce new mechanics such as potion-based purchases and higher-value currency and victory cards, plus extra promo cards and a full-color play mat that expand available options. Rounds proceed until specified piles are depleted, with the highest total of victory points determining the winner.
