2012 · Deduction
Coup
Players are heads of rival families in a corrupt city-state, vying to eliminate each other’s influence until only one family remains. Each player holds two face-down character cards that grant actions (take coins, steal, assassinate, exchange cards, or block specific moves). On a turn players take income, seek foreign aid, perform character actions, or pay to stage a coup; character actions can be claimed regardless of cards held, and opponents may challenge those claims. Challenges and successful coups force players to reveal and lose influence; revealed cards are unusable and losing both eliminates a player. The game ends when only one player still has hidden influence.
