Horrified
Classic movie monsters overrun a town and players work together to drive them off. Each player controls a hero who takes actions to gather items, complete tasks, and confront specific monsters before the town’s Terror track reaches its limit or the Monster deck forces a crisis. Monsters appear and act via an event-driven deck; each creature has unique behavior and win conditions, so players coordinate movement, item use, and special abilities to counter different threats. The game emphasizes cooperative planning, role differentiation, and variable difficulty through distinct monster mechanics and scenario pacing.

Rules questions
Answered from the rulebook by Ludoya's rules assistant.
Do villagers move on their own or do I have to use Guide/Move actions to move them?
Villagers only move when you move them with the Move action (you may take any number of Villagers in your space) or the Guide action (move one Villager one space); they also appear during the Monster Phase and stay until escorted to their safe location. (page 6)
Can my Hero move into water spaces or cross the river anywhere?
No — Heroes and Villagers cannot enter water spaces and may only cross the river using the two bridge spaces; only the Creature can move to or be placed on water spaces. (page 6, page 11)
When I draw a Monster card, what order do I resolve things in — and does the Event monster also attack that turn?
Resolve the Monster card top-to-bottom: Items, then Event, then Monster Strike; the Event Monster does not attack that turn unless it is also the Frenzied Monster. (page 8)
If a Monster attacks a Villager, can a Hero discard Items to save them?
No — Villagers have no Items and are defeated immediately when hit; a Hero cannot discard Items to save a Villager, and the attack target must be declared before rolling. (page 9)
If we defeat a Monster, do its Events or Monster Strikes still affect the game?
No — a defeated Monster is no longer in the game: ignore all Events and Monster Strikes for that Monster, remove its components, and handle the Frenzy marker and any Items on its mat as instructed. (page 10)
How many Items can I play when advancing a task or defending — can I play multiple of the same color?
Item limits are shown on each Monster mat: some tasks allow only one Item of a color per action while others allow any number (add strengths together), and when you use an Item place it in the discard pile unless the action specifically says otherwise. (page 7)
