Hunt for the Ring

Players take asymmetric roles: one controls Frodo and his companions attempting to travel from the Shire to Rivendell, while up to four others play the Nazgûl hunting the hobbits. The game uses hidden movement over two chapters on different boards. In the first chapter the hobbit player tries to reach Bree within a set number of turns to avoid gaining corruption; success lets the group either pause and record their position or continue into the second chapter. In the second chapter the hobbit player’s progress is driven by drawing journey cards that determine paths toward Rivendell, while the Nazgûl use deduction and tracking actions to locate and capture them.
