One Deck Dungeon
Players take a single hero into a shuffled deck that represents dungeon floors, encountering foes and hazards drawn as double-sided cards that show both challenges and rewards. On a turn, players allocate dice to overcome card tests, suffer damage for failed checks, and choose defeated cards to tuck under their character as experience, items, or skills to improve future rolls. The deck grows tougher the longer the delve, culminating in a boss fight if players reach the deepest level. The game supports solo or two-player play, with additional sets allowing more players.

Rules questions
Answered from the rulebook by Ludoya's rules assistant.
When can I put dice on the Fiend, and do those dice stay there between encounters?
You can fill boxes on the Fiend during any Encounter’s Use Skills and Place Dice step, and once a die is placed it remains on the Fiend until you Confront the Fiend or Descend (page 1).
Can effects or color restrictions move or change dice on the Fiend?
Fiend boxes ignore any effects that would alter them or placement in them (including unfilled green gem boxes elsewhere), and grey boxes on the Fiend can be filled with dice of any color (page 1).
How do I Confront a Fiend and what happens when I do?
When all boxes on a Fiend are full you can Confront it: all dice on the Fiend return to the supply, the Threat Level is reduced by one, and you gain the Fiend’s Confront Bonus (applied multiple times if on floor 2 or 3) (page 2).
How does Threat Level work and when does it change?
Threat Level starts at 2, resets to 3 at the start of the second floor and to 4 at the start of the third floor, and all effects at that level or lower are active (e.g., at Level 3 effects 1–3 apply) (page 2).
What happens to the Fiend and its dice when I Descend or reach the boss, and are there setup/campaign changes for playing with a Fiend?
When descending all dice on the Fiend are returned to the supply, and the Fiend is removed from play when fighting the boss; reaching the boss with a Fiend in play grants +1 campaign checkmark (or +2 on Difficult), and when playing with a Fiend you always gain a basic skill during setup (page 2).
