Primiera

Four players compete in a traditional card game of capturing cards and scoring points. The forty-card deck contains four suits, with each card assigned a Primiera value. Players begin with cards in hand and four cards face-up on the table. On each turn, a player plays a card to capture one or more table cards whose values add up to its value, or adds a card to the table instead. Clearing the table earns a sweep point. Partnerships change during each round based on the first Herald card played and the direction shown on it, while some rounds may be played individually. At the end of the round, players combine their captured cards to score, with each player recording the team’s points. The player with the highest total wins.
