Mus

A four-player partnership trickless card game using the 40‑card Spanish deck (no eights, nines or jokers). Players sit in two opposing pairs, receive a hand, then optionally discard and redraw during the initial Mus phase. Play centers on a sequence of four distinct wagers on the same hand: Grande (best high cards), Pequeña/Chica (best low cards), Pares (best matching combinations), and Juego/Punto (card totals of 31+ or highest point value). Wagers are called, passed, accepted or rejected verbally; cards are revealed only when required to settle accepted bets. Rounds score toward a target total and matches are decided by accumulating wins across games and sets according to regional scoring conventions.

One of the best games I've ever played, possible due to the combination of its classic taste, the bonds it creates between regular players and the amount of bluffing it incorporates. PROS - Only a regular card deck is needed to play. - The nuances in the game are amazing, and it only gets better the more you know your partner and rivals. CONS - Four people are required to play, which isn't flexible at all.
