Rules questions

Answered from the rulebook by Ludoya's rules assistant.

If a BAM! effect or Master Plan tells us to add Thugs or Civilians and a Location has no empty slots, what happens?

You trigger the Villain Dashboard’s Overflow effect: when there aren’t enough empty slots at a Location, follow the Overflow instruction on the Villain Dashboard (don’t try to place the token). (page 6)

When I play a Hero card, do I get the actions from that card and the previous Hero card, and can I use the previous card’s special effects?

You get the action symbols from the card you just played and from the previous Hero card in the Storyline (in any order), but you cannot use special effects from other Heroes’ cards — special effects only apply to the owner of that Hero card. (page 7)

How do Action tokens work — can I save them and spend them later or use them immediately?

Action tokens may be held by a Hero and spent at any point during the Resolve Actions step of any future turn to perform the corresponding action; they are not limited to the turn on which you gained them. (page 8)

When is a Master Plan drawn and how far does the Villain move when that card is played?

At the start of the Villain turn you draw the top Master Plan card and place it faceup, then move the Villain clockwise a number of Locations equal to the number on the card; if the Villain ends on a Location with a Threat symbol, immediately resolve that Threat’s effect. (page 5)

What happens when a Hero takes damage and how does KO work — do they lose cards and when do they come back?

For each damage a Hero takes they discard one card from their hand to the bottom of their deck; if that discard is their last card they are immediately KO’d (lay down their figure) and you resolve the Villain Dashboard BAM! effect, and at the start of their next turn they stand up and draw up to 4 cards. (page 10)
