2024 · Abstract Strategy
Sinoda
Players move and rotate four-sided dice on a geometric “flower of life” board to capture opponents’ pieces and score points. On a turn a player either moves a piece exactly the number of spaces shown on its top face or rotates a piece to change that top number by ±1; a capture occurs when a move ends on an opponent’s piece and awards the capturer the captured piece’s top-face value. Pieces cannot jump over others or retrace a space in the same move. The game ends when certain board or capture conditions are met, then players total captured points to determine the winner; play supports two, three, four, and six players, with distinct tactical and social dynamics in larger games and team variants where any teammate’s win counts for the team.
