Tantrix
Abstract strategy game played with painted hexagonal tiles, each showing three colored tracks that connect pairs of edges. Players aim to build the longest line or a closed loop in their chosen color; closed-loop tiles score double. On a turn, a player fills any "required play" spaces (holes bordered by three tiles) from an open hand of six, drawing after each placement, then places one additional legal tile before checking required spaces again. The open hands and required-play rule create tactical opportunities to extend one’s own track or force opponents to continue it. The full set uses 56 tiles; smaller solo puzzle variants present incremental loop-building challenges.
