The Great Hunger: Ireland's Tragedy in the 19th Century
Players compete in a fast-playing, competitive game with real history behind it, representing Irish tenant-farming families and itinerant field hands during the early 19th century. Population grows as players use events to expand across the map, but the arrival of potato blight brings hunger and disease. Players seek aid, find employment, send people aboard emigrant ships, or contend with English estates and the spread of illness. The game ends when the blight abates, and the player with the largest population wins.
