Players respond to themed prompts by inventing short answers that match a hidden intensity value. Each round one player collects the answers and attempts to place them in order from lowest to highest according to the secret numbers assigned to the other players. Prompts are adult-oriented and often humorous or suggestive; examples include ranking sensations, locations, or surprises from mild to extreme. The group scores cooperatively when the collector correctly orders the responses. Rounds are quick and rely on creativity, tone and judgment to convey the intended intensity.
