Vernissage
A game of speculation and dirty tricks in the art world. Players promote artists and their works through auctions, card play, and shifting public favour. Fate counters can bring artists in or out of favour, while the Critic’s feather damages reputations and players may challenge decisions with cash cards. When an artist is in favour, owners earn money from their paintings; artists out of favour leave the gallery, but their works remain in play. Artists at the top of the gallery can earn a Great or Small Vernissage and return to favour. At the end, players settle painting values, repay loans, and the player with the most cash wins.
