Katzbach 20

This game recreates the 1813 Battle of Katzbach, where Marshal MacDonald’s French forces clashed with a Russo-Prussian army under Marshal von Blücher during a heavy thunderstorm. French attacks lose momentum amid rain and confusion before an Allied counterattack inflicts heavy losses. The game uses a focused map, low unit density, and no more than 20 pieces. Players maneuver divisions across 800-meter hexes, resolve fast-moving combat, and manage story-driven random events and alternating daylight and night turns. Each turn represents roughly three daylight hours or ten hours at night.
