Saipan: The Bloody Rock

A historical wargame depicting the 1944 invasion and battle for Saipan, where American Marines and infantry assault Japanese defenses across beaches, airfields, mountains, and fortified positions. Players command companies and smaller units on maps scaled at 500 meters per hex, with each turn representing two hours. Four scenarios cover key actions including the initial landing, the fight for Aslito airfield, combat around Mount Tapotchau, and a major Japanese banzai attack. Two campaign games recreate the full battle or allow the Japanese player to prepare defenses and the American player to choose a landing plan. The game supports two players, up to four players, or solitaire play.
