Players compete to develop jurisdictions within the city of Kosk, aiming to earn the office of Castellan by scoring the most points. Gameplay centers on managing resources, citizens, and building projects, balancing immediate small payoffs against larger, delayed rewards. A Magistrate token moves through the districts and triggers evaluations of players’ work at varying times, influencing timing and strategy. Players draft and allocate actions to construct buildings, acquire goods, and optimize long-term plans while reacting to opponents’ moves and the Magistrate’s shifting presence.
