Players take the roles of rival Orc war chieftains assembling raiding bands and moving toward war. Each player builds up to three battle lines by placing unit cards between a musician and a standard bearer, with lines scoring combat strength from the combined battle ratings of their units. On a turn players draw and play cards, placing units into lines or discarding cards for special effects. Completed lines that have a musician and standard bearer and filled spaces may attack another player’s line; battles compare summed ratings with a fate die adding variability. Loot taken from defeated lines provides victory points, and players can also combine cards into larger units such as war machines.
