Dungeons & Dragons Basic Set (First Edition)

A foundational fantasy role-playing game in which players create adventurers, explore dangerous locations, and face monsters, traps, and other challenges. One player acts as the Dungeon Master, describing the world, controlling its inhabitants, and adjudicating the rules while the others decide what their characters do. The rules cover basic play and character progression through the first three levels, leaving room for groups to interpret, modify, and expand the game.
