Malta Besieged: 1940-1942

A solitaire simulation of the Mediterranean struggle from 1940–1942 that places the player in charge of Commonwealth forces defending the island of Malta and supporting the North African campaign. Players manage scarce supply, escort convoys, allocate air and naval assets, and trade supply for extra actions. Cards introduce historical events and operational challenges—air superiority, naval escorts, amphibious threats, intelligence (ULTRA) and Axis counterintelligence—that shape each turn. Convoy protection, interdiction of Axis supply to Rommel, and coordination with fleet and air units drive decision-making. Plays in about 75 minutes with moderate complexity and a heavy focus on solitaire play.
