Play centers on clue-gathering, interrogation and travel between linked scenarios, with a non-linear structure that lets groups pursue leads in different orders. Encounters mix social investigation, research, clandestine infiltration and occasional combat against cultists, sorcery and cosmic horrors. The boxed edition organizes the material into extensive adventure text, handouts (including new spells and weapons) and location sourcebooks to support play and referee preparation.
