Severed at the Root

Under new leadership, the Wildwood Lodge begins a campaign of violence, forcing the player characters and their allies to establish a lodge in exile. As they recruit support, they must keep a powerful relic from the renegade druid Ghorus, investigate the primal magic uncovered by the Wildwood Lodge, and seek the aid of one of the Verduran Forest’s most dangerous inhabitants—or prevent the enemy from gaining it. This wilderness adventure is designed for four 8th-level characters and continues a three-part campaign about the tensions between an idyllic wilderness, a hungry nation, and primal forces beyond the natural world. It also includes details on manifestations of the Plane of Wood, the ecology of the godlike green men, new magical items, and new monstrous threats.
