Venice

Set in 16th-century Venice, players act as wealthy merchants who move two gondolas along the city’s canals to recruit and train assistants, collect resources, and fulfill contracts. Moving a gondola lets players activate assistants they pass and upgrade the assistant on which they stop; assistants assigned to buildings provide actions such as trading, gaining resources, earning money, or gathering information. Resource tokens are stored in gondolas and used to complete lucrative contracts, while passing other merchants raises suspicion from the Venetian Inquisition. Players can lower suspicion through visits or donations or pursue risky criminal actions for gain. Political influence and suspicion both affect final scoring, and a high suspicion level can negate an otherwise successful campaign. Includes a solo mode.
