World At War 85: Storming the Gap – The Drive On Giessen

A campaign game depicting a Soviet division’s advance across West Germany against NATO forces. The operational map covers an area from Eisenach in East Germany to Giessen in West Germany, with locations linked by roads that regulate movement. During each operational turn, players secretly and simultaneously move formations between adjacent locations, improve defenses, or regroup. Battles occur where opposing forces meet, with the setup determined by how the forces arrived. Reinforcements and artillery support can join battles from neighboring locations.
