World At War 85: Strike Force Africa

A platoon-level combat game set in an alternate 1985, where the Soviet Union and its Cuban allies expand the Third World War into Angola. Players command rebel, Cuban, Soviet, and South African Defense Force units in fast-moving battles across southwest Africa. Combat uses opposed rolls by attacking and defending units, with results compared directly and unit information printed on the counters. Initiative, formation activation, variable turn lengths, close air support, and air cover are integrated into the system without a combat results table.
