Donnerschlag: Escape from Stalingrad

Can the German player coordinate a relief attack with a breakout from the Stalingrad pocket? This two-player game recreates the December 1942 attempt to relieve the encircled 6th Army. The Axis player secretly establishes and reaches a meeting point with the trapped forces, while the Soviet player works to prevent the link-up. Players command brigades, regiments, battalions, and Abteilungen across a hex-based map, with each turn representing one to two days and each hex covering four kilometers.
