Saalfeld: Prelude to Jena – 10 October 1806

In October 1806, a French advance guard clashes with Saxon and Prussian forces in western Saxony. The French seek to split the allied armies, while an allied victory threatens the flank of other French columns. This compact two-player wargame uses regiment-level units on a hex map, with each hex representing 352 yards. Players maneuver forces of equal strength and exploit the opposing side’s strengths and weaknesses while racing against time.
