Too Many Bones

Any Bones icons you roll may be placed into your Backup Plan (BP); Atk/Def dice that show Bones may be used for BP without reducing those dice for future turns, but Skill dice used for BP must be exhausted. You can store up to 5 Bones in your BP, must spend them left-to-right for BP Skills, and multi-Bones dice consume whole dice when used (see pages 11, 13).

No — Atk and Def dice are never Exhausted by normal use and are available each turn; only Skill dice are normally Exhausted when used, and some Baddie effects can force Atk/Def dice to be Exhausted for a battle (which reduces that stat) (see pages 11–12).

Yes — Def dice placed in Active slots count against your available Def dice, so they reduce how many Def dice you may roll until they are removed from Active slots; Active slot dice also determine how much damage you prevent (see pages 11–12).

Melee Baddies move up to 2 orthogonally adjacent positions per turn toward the closest opposing unit (shortest route), will not move if already adjacent, and cannot pass through or occupy another unit’s space; only Baddies with the diagonal-movement icon may move diagonally, and ranged Baddies do not move and can target any opposing unit (ties use Initiative or party choice) (see pages 15, 17, 20).

Each Gearloc can hold up to 4 loot (Heavy counts as 3); loot can be used or discarded outside of battle at any time and during battle only on your turn, but loot is not usable while your Gearloc is KO’d; Trove Loot remains chest-side up until opened via Lockpicking during the Recovery Phase (see pages 21, 20, 9).
