Carolus Magnus

Players place small wooden mercenary blocks onto hexagonal land tiles arranged in a circle to vie for influence over different mercenary types and territories. When a player holds a majority of control markers on a land tile they may build a tower there; towers act as persistent control markers and contribute to victory. Adjacent lands controlled by the same player merge into larger territories that are harder for opponents to wrest away. The game ends when a player has placed a set number of towers or when the map is reduced to three or fewer land masses, at which point the player with the most towers wins.
