Heroscape Master Set: Swarm of the Marro

Els jugadors construeixen un camp de batalla modular unint i apilant fitxes de terreny encaixables, incloent-hi peces noves de pantà i d’aigua de pantà, i després despleguen exèrcits de miniatures esculpides formades pels herois i les esquadres Marro del joc. Cada unitat té un valor de moviment mesurat en hexàgons i pot pujar de nivell amb un cost addicional; caure des de grans altures pot causar dany, tret que la caiguda sigui a l’aigua. El combat es resol amb daus d’atac i defensa: els atacants tiren els daus que s’indiquen a la seva carta, els defensors tiren tants daus com el seu valor de defensa, i els cranis sobrants infligeixen ferides fins que s’assoleix el valor de vida d’una unitat i aquesta és retirada. Els escenaris utilitzen un sistema de selecció basat en punts, i el joc és compatible amb expansions, mapes personalitzats i regles avançades.

    The best miniatures skirmish game I've ever played. This Master Set is structures around Marro figures, which feels a little limited for me, but may be more coherent to new players. PROS - Amazing terrain: absolutely no other game looks this good when displayed on the table. - Good-looking pre-painted figures. - Easy to teach and learn. - Simple atributes and powers system for the characters, with no complicated rules nor exceptions. - Simple movement and combat system: no need for rulers nor any other components. - High level of strategy with the possibility of bluffing and deceiving. - The possibility of creating an unlimited number of scenarios and variants. CONS - The almost inexistent distribution in Spain. - The fact that it has been discontinued for a lot of years, so finding material isn't easy nor cheap.
