Baltic Gap: Summer 1944

A tactical-operational wargame covering the Soviet summer 1944 advance through Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania, culminating in the capture of Riga and the encirclement of German forces in Courland. Players command units at battalion through army scale on two large hex maps (5-mile hexes). Gameplay uses the Operational Combat System turn structure (3–4 day turns) with movement, combat, supply and operational-level planning. Scenarios range from short single-player-per-side engagements to a long multi-player campaign for up to five participants. Components include multiple countersheets, detailed OCS and campaign-specific rulebooks, charts and dice; play emphasizes maneuver, timing of offensives and defensive skill under asymmetric force quality.
