18DO: Dortmund
A strategic economic simulation set in 19th-century Dortmund that combines brewery development with railway expansion. Players act as investors who start with a private brewery and may found or invest in railway corporations. Breweries in the Dortmund city hex produce beer and can be upgraded or converted into brewery corporations, gaining special function tokens that alter their abilities. Railway companies build track from the map edge to coal mines and steel mills, run routes to generate income based on hex values, and eventually carry beer from Dortmund to off‑board destinations. Connecting industrial sites increases local beer demand, and corporations pay dividends and affect share prices. The game scores total cash plus share value to determine the winner.
