A Brief History of the World

A grand-scale, card-driven game that recreates the rise and fall of fifty historical empires across six epochs. Players take turns playing empire cards to place armies, found cities, build monuments and forts, and conduct wars on a large world map. Scoring occurs after each epoch based on area control, cities and monuments, with event cards and dice introducing variability and interaction. The box includes epoch maps, empire and event decks, area and city counters, plastic minis and markers to track empires through successive ages. Games run over multiple epochs as players try to maximize territorial gains and outscore rivals by the final tally.
