2020 · Card Game
Allegra
Players try to keep a running total of numbered cards as low as possible across three rounds by swapping, revealing and discarding cards in a shared grid area. Each player has a 4x3 layout of face-down cards; the rightmost column counts as part of the right-hand neighbor’s area and likewise each player benefits from their left neighbor’s rightmost column. On a turn a player draws from the deck or discard pile, then either swaps that card with one in their area or discards it to flip a card face up. Drawing from the deck can be contested by a knock from another player that triggers a special exchange sequence between the drawer and the knocker. Forming three identical cards in a row or column removes them from play. When one player has all cards face up, final turns are taken and players total the values in their area; the starter of the end round is penalized if their score is not the lowest. Scores carry across three rounds.

Skyjo, but better, with more interaction. Still a lot of luck. But we prefer this one to the acclaimed Skyjo (too dry for us, the interaction added here raises interest in this luck driven family game ) French illustrated review : https://www.adayagame.fr/jeux-familiaux/369-test-du-jeu-allegra-un-derive-du-golf-enfin-convaincant
