Players collectively reenact the struggle for control of England, Scotland, and Wales from the Roman invasion through the Norman Conquest. Each player controls different nations and peoples over successive historical eras, mobilizing armies, conducting raids, and resolving battles as forces rise and decline. Rules guide movement and combat to reflect period constraints while allowing alternative outcomes, so players can recreate famous battles or produce divergent “what if” histories. Victory is determined by scoring control of regions and successful campaigns across the centuries covered by the game.
